The area covered by South West Scotland Community Rail Partnership
Scotland’s first ever Community Rail Partnership was founded in 2007 to promote the rail link to and from the towns of Ayr, Maybole, Girvan and Stranraer and the village of Barrhill.
Now, we have a new name - the South West Scotland Community Rail Partnership - chosen to better reflect our renewed focus and values across the whole of South West Scotland.
We will, over the coming weeks and months, be extending our range of projects and activities designed to connect the communities served by the Ayr to Stranraer, Ayr to Kilmarnock, Kilmarnock to Dumfries and Dumfries to Gretna Green lines with their railway. We welcome enquiries from anyone who would like to become a friend of the line or who would like to be more actively involved as a member of the Partnership.
Contact us today for details. Over the coming months, we will be consulting with community councils and other community groups across the south west region to seek working partnerships relating to projects involving the railway.
We will also be adding details such as facilities and train times for all stations across South West Scotland to include the Ayr to Kilmarnock line, Kilmarnock to Dumfries and Dumfries to Gretna Green.
